Okay....so I'll admit its been a while since I posted a fishing report. I've only dipped the bow of my boat in the water twice this month and I was shutout the first time. As an angler (no matter how successful) you need to be comfortable with the idea of getting "skunked" on occasion. Learn what you can from the experience and tip your hat to the elusive fish. The key to enjoying your angling experience is realizing that it is seldom really about the fish that are caught, rather its about the great outdoor experience.

That being said....the drought is over!

I slid the bow into the water around 5pm and by 7pm I was all smiles. Set the down-rigger at 44ft (my favorite depth after I have been skunked) and dragged a Cop-Car Coyote Gypsy spoon 3.5inches long. Bingo! Fish on....after a brief tussle with my 6500C3 (that's a hint!) she was released to fight another day. I was sailing solo...so sorry no picture. A safe estimate was that she was 2.5lbs. I have attached a picture of the magic lure for your viewing pleasure. BTW...mine was barbless...always play by the rules!
